Last Enduro, my team mate had to run most of the race. I kept falling asleep, which does result in my best laps???

Well I guess I fell asleep again for this Enduro. My best laps were at the end again. I never could get around John O, but this was the first time I have ever been able to almost keep up with him!!! My Teammates carried me for most of the race, they kept having to make up laps after I ran.

Great time at Jim's track yesterday! This four hour Group C enduro kept the nine of us thoroughly entertained. Kudos to Dave and Harry for jumping right in and pushing hard in both the "day" and "night" sections. Mark brought some delicious burgers and the Porsche 962 we used for one minute qualifying. The field was covered by 0.5 seconds in qualifying and teams established off the results. Plenty of trash talking and wupass ensued in the 40 minute sections on each of the three lanes to make the first two hour segment. My thanks to Jim W and Robert for putting up with me as a teammate as Jim's 962 proved to be both fast and durable in that first session.
We stopped for (lunch? dinner?) linner at around 3, and I got busy learning how Jim's Weber grill worked. My sushi proved popular as an appetizer and we all enjoyed the 45 minute break to have some good food. Gotta give John Parker kudos for his creative and delicious dessert cups.
The second "nighttime" session proved to be a more competitive race, as pit stops (ie fixing cars) in the previous two-hour segment really separated the field. A Nissan R390 joined the field after one Porsche was retired and ran strong into the night. Changing on the fly between the three teammates was a fun exercise, as that was also the best time to clean tires before the start of a new stint. Happy to report that Robert and Jim carried me once again, as we exceeded a thousand laps in both sessions FTW. Personally, I think a four-hour is the longest enduro we can practically run, unless we use the beds in Jim's motorhome to get some rest after those long stints. Thanks for all the hospitality, Jim, but that would be a step too far! Thanks also to Mark for setting this one up.

One more point: if you haven't experienced slot car racing with a group of teammmates, it's a worthwhile exercise. Quite different than our usual sprint races and lots of seat time. Curious to know what others perceptions were on the event.

Thanks again Jim for hosting and providing the track to race on and deck to enjoy the cookout! Couldn't have asked for better weather either.
These enduros are becoming more fun when there's something to race for; food! Maybe I'll put a sticker on our entry next time, "Will race for food"
Thanks to everyone who came to race and made it all memorable. Harry and David really adjusted well to our pace and bodes well for becoming regulars to our group.
Thank you Mark for organizing the enduro. The 4-hour day/night combination was fun especially when combined with the cookout. We'll remember this one!
Lastly, but more importantly, thanks Jim and Dave for supplying such good and reliable cars and being my teammates! You both did great!
