It is snowing here in Bennet, but I will still be coming to Colpar.

To say I was disappointed with the meeting would be a huge understatement. NOTHING changed except the acting prez is not the "official" prez. There is still a committee but we never voted as to who are the 4 on that committee. Now we still will be able to run a Predator motor in a Box Stock + class and run street cars in a race class (NASCAR). This is very disappointing IMO. I know I'll get blasted for this but I expect it.

I’ll bring Pecan Kringle to the meeting. It’s a Danish pastry from my hometown in Wisconsin. Bruce Thanks for bringing the Pecan Kringle pastry today, Bruce. I really enjoyed it! Also, thanks to everyone who braved the sloppy weather today to attend this meeting and race. Great seeing everyone on a day like this!

This meeting held discussions first and then, by forceful encouragement, a selection of nominees were selected.
A paper ballot vote was taken by all attending members, with the majority vote in favor of Jim Weickum, formerly "acting President", now "official President".
Any member had the opportunity to speak their mind beforehand, and while no "standards" had been set for this voting process, nonetheless a democratic process was adhered to. By popular vote, only the office of President was agreed to be voted upon today.
Soon, a vote will be taken to determine the members that will constitute the "Committee". The committee will be responsible for creating the framework for the club's official rule making representation.
Apparently, this was the first "official" election for President of the RMSCC in many years, and hopefully the club will now stand unified behind this result.

I am in full support of Jim as the President. Looking forward to who is interested in being on the committee of four so we as members can vote on this. Maybe vote over the next two weeks?

I believe Dave M was going to start a dedicated thread for the purpose of recruiting interested members for "committee" selection. There will be a "time period" whereby interested members will put their names up for inclusion, followed by the voting process.

I understand I took running the meeting by the horns so to speak but felt I was very fair in listening to everyone’s input and then putting it all up for a vote for the club to decide.

Not disappointed in anyone specifically, in fact I'm glad someone took over the meeting to get the voting started--I was disappointed about the outcome--NOTHING changed except the number of committee members from 3 yo 4 and the changing from acting to official president.

Tom,
I am glad you feel that way. I have NEVER felt I was the "acting" anything. I was told I now had administration rights and that was it. Several members of the Club had left or soon left, and I and others did what we felt was needed to keep the Club going. As the elected President, I hope with the help of the 4 other board members, we can keep making this Club a fun club for slot car racing.
My term is only for one year, instead of like the last 4/6 years when we have not elected anyone.
