I have never seen a class where we have had a restriction on gearing. Most cars we run will only use the "factory" gearing. When I use a Slot.it sidewinder in a car, it is pulled from another Slot.it car such as a Ford GT40. If you remember when we ran the Trans Am class last time, my SCX Cuda had all of the running gear from a Slot.it Ford GT40. Then when we ran the Ford vs Ferrari the parts were put back in that Ford GT40 and it was raced in the series. My first Slot.it Ford GT40 has not been on the track since it was new because the parts have been used in other cars.
If I change the gearing in a car, it may be the pinion that I increase by one tooth, such as a Slot.it sidewinder, from 11-tooth to 12-tooth pinion. NSR and Scaleauto will have a 12 or 13 tooth pinion in their cars already. Pioneer will have a 12-tooth pinion and they send a 13-tooth pinion under the case while a Scalextric Trans Am car will have a 11-tooth pinion.

In a race like an Enduro, the car needs to setup to make it through the race. If we are running Box Stock cars, what can be done to ensure a good finish with the car? I will make sure my braids are making good contact with the track and make sure that the wires are secure. I will make sure the rear axle is not binding and the gears are meshing. I will make sure the front tires are not hitting on or rubbing the body. I may glue the screws in to prevent losing a screw in the race, especially the body screws. I will look at the front tires to make sure that they are round, so I may have to true the tires. I will look at the rear tires and make sure that they have a rounded profile on the inside and the outside of the tires. If I have body float, I will make sure the tires do not rub when the chassis and body are leaning in a corner. I will check the motor leads to make sure there is not a bad solder joint on the motor. If the car has lights, I will make sure that all wiring is secure and working. Don't forget to add a drop of oil to all key moving parts just before the start of the day/night.

With having multiple cars for each race, I need to start now getting them ready.

With Marc and John out October 1st and 8th. And racing on September 24th and This would leave September 17, October 15, and may be October 28th. How does the September 17th day work?? How does the October 15th work?? I can't make the Oct 15th date. September 17th sounds OK.

I believe the Sept. 17th date may work for me. This is 1 month from now and will require drivers to acquire and prepare their cars, installing the 'light kits' as well. You may want to keep a back-up date in case things get tight for the members. Here's a link to the Slot It Group C cars. They also made the Mazda 787B which is not listed on this: link
There are other liveries not shown that can be had, so post your thoughts.

BTW Mark, you may want to correct your thread title from 'Eduro' to Enduro

Jim, I can be bribed. I will add 5 points for your name at the cost of one donut per point.

I guess I will not be getting any "free" points now. I would eat my points before I get to the race. I had a Donut shop in town that I would stop at in the morning before work, many years ago, and would eat them before I was at work. I would also get a bottle of orange juice to make it a "healthy" breakfast for me. Sometimes he would not sell me a donut that I wanted; they hadn't cooled down yet.

Looks inviting! If I didn't have a 1:1 race at High Plains Raceway, I'd be there to help christen it. Have fun everybody!

We'll have to check availability of the lighting kits. Searches have turned up a lot of 'Sold Out'.
Also need to agree on motor configuration; inline or sidewinder or either.

We will need to work with the September 17th, as I have my right knee scheduled for replacement on October 12th. Left knee 6 to 7 weeks later. Really looking forward to this !
