This hobby is too expensive for me. Fiscally unsustainable would be a good line. Fixed income and any hobby that has "collectible", "antique" or, "racing" in the description is not a good fit. Speed does indeed cost money, even in miniature. We've accumulated a good collection of 1/32 cars at some attractive prices but only 3 or 4 of the cars are eligible for the classes we've seen thus far and those need tires, guides, etc. I appreciate all of the input and the loaner cars (Mark, Tom, etc.) It's just time to get real. Did manage to snag some good cars - mainly slot.it and fly. Got way too carried away though. In view of my handicaps (both physical and financial) it's just easier for my wife and I to run on our modest home track. You're all great guys and I became passionate about the hobby quickly. Just wish I'd done more of it when I was younger. We might just keep an eye on what you're running and show up occasionally.
Don't let your controllers and motors get cold

Sorry to hear this, Bob. We hope you can show up once in a while to race with us. I agree that this hobby, and any hobby for that matter, can be expensive, especially on a fixed income. Good luck to you and your wife and have fun. Tom

Bob- hope you don't completely give up on us. As another participant who doesn't have many cars, and lacks a "home track" to even run them on, I feel ya. Still, it's fun to race, even if we only see you once in awhile.

You can always just show up and borrow a car, I almost always have multiples with me. Do not be a stranger you are always, and always were, welcome. Jerry
