Paint for track surface

Was at Colpar and Tom's house (by the way, thanks for a fun day of racing) I know these are Carrera tracks but what type of paint did you use and why? Similar question on the copper tape?

I have Scalextric sport track but after running on a few different tracks, thinking about changing size, location and adding some elevation and overpass changes this fall.

I used Valspar gray primer from Lowes and it really improves the traction. The copper tape helps with conductivity--no power issues after I laid it down. It also makes the track a little smoother over the joints.
