I was thinking about something we had done with the RC Club. When we introduced a new class (which this club does much more frequently) we would take one race day and turn it into a test and tune day. Gave a chance to work on cars, talk about what adjustment or set up helped each car. Then a chance to use the timing system to see the changes. Play with tires, brushes ...... experienced racers helping new and if done at Colpar, could announce/post come learn about the hobby.
It also gave us a chance to tech all the cars for this class. This always found some interesting prep or selections .... wrong motors, wrong software, incorrect ride height......... Or learn something new.
Just my thought,
I also appreciate being accepted into this group.

I appreciate being accepted into this group too Mark and I’m all in on your idea.

We're always welcoming to new members.
Your idea was mentioned before, more in that for newer members unfamiliar with slot car set-up would be coached and demonstrated on certain set-up techniques. Nothing has come of it however and probably due to the length of run time of a race, has kept this idea from becoming a reality.
Perhaps we could schedule this a couple of hours before a Saturday race at Colpar. We would have to see which drivers would be willing to commit to this and then proceed to schedule it.

Maybe this could be done on some of the upcoming Saturday races at Colpar. Could also learn how to set up and start Trackmate, so more people can help in race day.

Great conversation today, Thanks Robert, Jim, John, Dennis, Harry with the conversation and excellent details. No I need to apply them.
In our conversation the round tungsten weights I use are from Professor Motor. 1800 and 1801. Full height and half height. I use shoe goo to install if needed as easy to remove and clean from weight and chassis.
