Hi! It was nice meeting you all at the race on Wednesday. Thanks for letting me turn a few laps. And sorry I couldn't stick around longer.
I read in the forums there is a membership fee. How much and who collects it?
In other news, I ordered 2 new Fords since then. One GT40 and one Group 5 Mustang. Seems that should get me started. Any advice on tires? We ran urethane or rubber in Seattle, so I'm clueless about silicone options. Quick Slicks?
Realistically, I can only make Wednesdays through Easter. After that my Saturdays open up too.
Looking forward to racing with you.

We use Silicone tires on all of our cars. Some of the guys use Super Tires and some will use Quick Slicks. On most of my cars, I have Super Tires, since they were the only tire when I started in the Club.
Quick Slicks have made tires in the last, maybe 5 years. Quick Slicks can be bought from varies places, including Slot Car Corner and Clover Leaf Racing. I think there may be a partnership between Slot Car Corner and Quick Slicks, since SCC does not sell Super Tires. SCC does have charts that will give guidance on what Quick Slicks will fit on what slot cars. Quick Slicks now come in three compounds, but do not get the soft compound for our tracks. I think most guys may be using the extra firm tires from Quick Slicks now.
Super Tires have had a problem getting going again after the death of Nick, the owner and creator of Super Tires. It has always been a family-owned business, so his daughter has taking it over. It seems that Cincy Slot cars may be the distributor for Super Tires now. There are charts on Super Tires website that will show what tires fit on certain slot cars.
Colpar Hobbies, here in Aurora, has had a stock of different tires, so I would look there to get your tires.
On a Slot.it Ford GT 40, I have Super Tires 1403 on some of my cars and others may have a Super Tires 1403R, rounded edge tire. If you have an NSR Ford GT 40 it may use the same size tire. The Sideways Group 5 Mustang may also use the same tires.
Since I don't use Quick Slicks as much, old habits, I don't know which tire is the same size.
I have run a test using Super Tires and Quick Slicks and both tires will give you very good traction and last forever.

Quick Slicks are only Silicone. While Super Tires does sell urethane tires called yellow dogs, besides their Classic or Silicone tires also. A tire may say 1403 RS, which is their rounded sidewall Silicone tire from Super Tires.

I've only been to the one event so fare. It has been a very busy time with my kids and their sports lately. I am hoping to get out there tonight. Not sure though.

Dang it! I missed this update and took the night off thinking the whole thing was cancelled. I literally took down the Christmas tree instead. :-(
