David C's Le Mans track will only be using house controllers, Slot.it SCP-1 and SCP-1.1. Read the instructions on the Slot.it website before you attend the race. They are very different on how the controllers work, also between each model. There are 4 knobs that need to be set as well as a couple switches. Braking can be linear or have a curve such as used in F1 cars. There is also an additional brake buttons on the side of the controller. The controllers use PWM (pulse width modulation) for both power and braking. The trigger does not "touch" any contacts, so there will not be a "feel" as you use the trigger. There is a magnet in the trigger that will operate the electrical circuit in the controller. This can be programmed for a linear or a curved response.
Take a good look at the track when you arrive. Look for the squeezes in the track and make sure you find the braking points for each section. Don't worry about Tom or Jerry, within a few laps they will be setting some of the fastest laps. Most of the curves will have banking to help you keep your speed up through each section. I don't know all of the changes from when we last raced on this track, so most of us will be learning the track once again. Good Luck and have fun.

I will have abbreviated users manuals available at the track for your review as I always have. The Slot.it controllers are version 1.0 & 1.1. They are virtually identical. More information is posted on the Lemans thread...

I will not be racing tomorrow. Contractors are still working on my garage. Hope they finish tomorrow.

We had 16 entrants today for David Crosby's latest Le Mans track incarnation. This inaugural event turned out to be a very exciting and successful debut for this particular track, featuring many varying rises, dips, convergences, bankings, differing radii corners, and even the requisite Mulsanne straightaway. Adding to this impressive challenge was the equally challenging Slot it controller system installed. Congratulations to David in accomplishing a multitude of goals when overcoming the varying obstacles to not only engineer, but successfully construct and complete such an impressive raceway that definitely lives up to this track's historic namesake. I believe that I can safely say that, speaking for all of our club's fortunate entrants whom were able to make this event, a hearty 'thank you' is in order for all your hard work David! We look forward to returning to Le Mans in the future! Due to the start of our Le Mans class coinciding with the inaugural race at Le Mans, I'm including a number of photos of the paddock impound before the races and various other shots of the grid etc. - - and for the finishing order and results of the 7th round of Group 5; - - and onto the Le Mans class finishing order, Ferrari - Matra - Porsche - Alfa --and from the back of the finishing order;

Thanks Dave for a fun day of racing. I missed this track and am glad to have it back in the rotation.

I'm glad everybody(?) had a good time. I enjoyed having you all over and it was a successful event. Some of you actually did very well with the Slot.it controllers... Robert made the podium and that was without even coming over for a practice session! . Looing foreword to hosting again and maybe I'll have a majority of my scenery complete.
