I have been doing some testing now that I have some of the bugs worked out . Tires will be a major change for everybody on this track at least from my initial testing. I have read that this type of track surface has to be "rubbered in" for it to give it's optimal grip. My initial observations: Silicons are worthless . Original type (box stock) rubber works really well and most urathanes seem to give the best grip. So... Tom I suggest you start stocking some of those type of tires. The Slot-it controllers are of course a little more techinical than the Professor Motor controllers and their will be a little more learning curve than just the two knobs everone is used to. This track is another "Crosby creation" which means... it is a "technical" track as opposed to a big flowing comercial track . Of course LeMans is not a big flowing track to begin with so it is what it is ;D. I have not started on any landscaping yet and I think I will be adding "extra" barriers on a few of the turns that can be a "challenge" to the few that are challenged . I still don't have a timing system hooked up yet due to the fact that I'm wating to buy a new home computer and I the track will get the used hand-me-down . A test and tune, grand opening will be in the future of course but I have not determined a date yet. Hopefully before years end...

When my track was new and not "rubbered in" oem rubber tires worked better as well, and silicones were terrible. Part of that was the epoxy paint itself, which I think needed to be burnished in. Once a few hundred laps had been run in each lane silicones started to work, and while most cars ran best on supertires, SLot.its ran geat too. Some of the Slot.it rubber tires also worked very well.

From what I have read on SCI, use a cheap $$$ flat latex paint. So thats what I used. I believe it is a "Rustolium" paint. I used at least two coats...
