I bought a Scaleauto Pantera for rally racing. The rear axle needs to be removed to get the magnet out. I cannot unscrew the angle gear. The hex on the set screw is either rounded out ( not by me) or my wrench is not the right size. I am not sure how to proceed. I cannot remove the motor because the angle gear covers one of the mounting screws. Very frustrating. Any ideas?

Dennis,
I have a Scaleauto screwdriver with a replaceable tip. It uses a 0.95mm tip that will fit the set screws. I will bring it when we race at your house. I have other screwdrivers that have different tips for the various different screws used on slotcars. Slot.it uses the 0.90mm, NSR uses 0.050"(1.27mm), Thunderslot uses a Torx T6 on their body screws and Black Arrow also uses the Torx T6 body screws. I also have a few different Phillips screwdrivers to fit the other body screws. I bought a set of mini screwdrivers from Sears that had a dozen different screwdrivers in the set, flat blade, phillips and torx. I think Slot.it is now using some Torx screws, of course they are a different size than the T6 tip. I also have a set of screwdrivers that I received from Slot Car Corner. They are engraved with my initials and RMSCC so if I leave them at someone's track, they will know who left them behind.

I did manage to get the magnets out but it is too long and drawn out to describe here. Bring the drive here any way. I may want to adjust back lash. Thanks
