Last weekend at HPR, Ian's 'Break Loose Racing' team finally overcame what had become a 2 and a half year battle to overcome an electronic nightmare that had bewildered professional racing shops, Nissan dealership service department, Dave Muramoto, John Parker, Ian Sullivan, Nick Leone and Alan (Electronics guru). After much electrical research, re-wiring, component replacement, engine management/electronic system and sensor evaluation, Alan and the team re-evaluated the systems and applied a much more thorough and insightful method to overcome the problem that kept crippling the car's ability to run effectively. Previously, Dave's Nissan 350Z T3 car was continuously being forced into 'limp mode' because of sensor codes that were being pulled and were frustratingly hard to correlate within the car's computer. Even the computer and accelerator pedal assembly had been replaced at one point. Nonetheless, all these efforts finally paid off with a remarkable performance by Ian in Dave's 350Z never missing a beat for Sunday's SCCA 'Last Chance Majors' race. After qualifying 6th, Ian drove impeccably to finish on the podium with a 3rd place overall. Congratulations Ian! To you, Nick Leone, Alan, and Dave; well done!

Worth mentioning that among the racers that Ian was competing with were ex-IMSA and SCCA pro drivers attempting to qualify for the Runoffs. Ian drove hard and well with this crowd and set up his passes superbly. My weekend wasn't as exciting as I served as Chief of Tech for the Last Chance Majors, with John Parker and Nick Leone helping out.

I guess they found out about the "Break Loose Racing" team and will not try that again. Hope the Pros find a place where they can still Qualify.
