Modern GT cars can come in many different years and the slotcars may be made by different manufacturers. I will use 1995-current as Modern GT cars.
Since we just finished a class that was for Scalextric modern GT cars only, I thought I would take a look at how these cars from Scalextric would compare to some of the other cars in the Modern GT class from other manufacturers.
The first thing I did was run the Scalextric cars that I used in this class. I have a C8 Corvette and 3 Ford GT GTE cars. I ran them all on my wood track in the red lane, the center lane. The Corvette was used by Jerry or myself for some of the races. The Corvette is now running a couple tenths better than before the racing started. I ran a 7.05 seconds lap today. Next. I ran the car that was mostly used Kyle, the first Ford GT GTE. This is my newest car for this class. Kyle did a good job of running this car and it now runs about 3/10 better than before the races started. It ran a best of 7.1 seconds today. The next car has a seat that is now holding the wing on the car. Somehow it got lost at my house and I never did find the original wing mounts. John O was the main driver of this car. It is running a couple tenths faster now than it ran when I tested it before the racing started. I ran a 6.8 seconds lap today. Now for the last Ford GT GTE. I used this car for most of the races for the season. It is now running also a couple tenths better than before the racing started. I was able to run a best lap of the group with this car, a 6.69 seconds lap. For the first time I guess I picked my fastest car for me and did not give it to anyone to use to beat me. OK, John O and Jerry did win some of the races with these cars.
Next, I looked at some of the other cars that I have that I could run in a Modern GT class, besides the Scalextric cars. I picked a couple of cars that have motors rated at 17k at 12 volts and some cars that have motors that are rated 25k at 12 volts. This was to see how manufactures' motor ratings may compare.
First, I took a couple of Sidways cars that have the motors that are rated at 17k at 12 volts. I used a Lamborghini Hurricane, like the car that had won the series a few years ago. I ran a best of 6.8 seconds with this car. Next, I used a McLaren 720. This car also ran a 6.8 seconds lap. These two cars have 17k motors in them and the cars are box stock plus.
So, next I brought out three cars that have motors rated at 25k at 12 volts. First, I used a NSR Mosler. This car ran a 6.5 seconds lap. Next I used a newer car, a NSR Corvette. I haven't used this car before in a race. This Corvette ran a 6.4 seconds lap. The last car I used was a NSR C7 Corvette. This car I have used in the Modern GT class before. The Corvette didn't disappoint, turned in the best laps of all of the cars. Its medium lap was 6.27 and the best lap was a 6.14. Remember this is with a car that has a motor that is rated at 25k at 12 volts. Again, all cars are box stock plus.
The Scalextric Ford GT GTE cars may be a little quicker than their brothers, but I will not be using them when we run a class for all Modern GT cars. They are a few dollars cheaper than the other cars I used here, but they do not have aluminum rear wheels, adjustable front axles, motor pods, and gearing that can be easily changed if needed. The Scalextric Ford GT GTE cars were some the lightest cars and the Scalextric Corvette was one of the heavier cars, it weighed 90 grams.

If the Scalextric cars have a "true" 26k motor that would be rated at 12 volts, I didn't see it today, on my track.
