Use Tamiya spray paints--they go on very nice and dry quickly. Prep the body by sanding it first and remove any mold lines if you want to do that. Prime it with Tamiya primer--you should always prime the bodies--then sand it again with fine sandpaper. When you spray, hold the can about 8-10" from the body, start before the body and end past the body spraying in light even coats.

First and foremost, wash with warm soapy water and dry to remove any possible oils from when manufactured in the molding process. Then possibly sand any mold lines with very fine sandpaper. then after priming like Tom said you may have to sand again with very fine paper. I'm talking minimum 600 grit then down to 1000 grit. Just like painting a 1:1 car... it's all in the prep. And remember... LIGHT COATS! Especially of you final desired color.
