Well, I have seen a few over the years. My friend and I would make a weekly trip to the "yard". We both had 69 Camaros that received most of their upgraded parts from "Woodys". We changed our cars from plain Jane cars to hi-performance cars. We added disk brakes, tilt columns, multi-leaf rear springs, heavy duty rear ends, 4-speed transmissions and larger radiators. My friend's floor jack had a removable handle that came in handy as a large pry bar. Once we were removing front spindles from a Rambler, which are held on by 4 bolts, and we only had a 3/8 rachet with us. The racket held up through the last bolt before it gave its life up. Thank You for lifetime guarantee on tools. I may still get a call from my friend to come to a pull-n-save to help him lift a complete rear end with brakes for one of his projects. So, I guess we have been doing it for over 50 years now.

When my son turned 16, this friend gave my son a project car, a 69 Camaro with a good title. All he had to do was put everything on the shell of the body. I called the car, the car in a jar!! We used a couple of parts cars to get the car to roll to our house. Then he took the front sub-frame back off and replaced it with disk brakes. He also took the rear end back out and replaced it with a 9" Ford rear end, which bolted to the muti-leaf springs he also installed. The first motor came from a 69 Impala. He later changed to a 350, 400 and last was my 454 from my truck. He rebuilt it before he installed it. I think he was 18 when he did the last swap. I was away on a trip to Germany, so I missed helping on that swap. Hey, he took my cam and heads also. I guess it was OK, I wasn't there to say no.
