I'm putting this in two places so maybe people will see it. OK, here's my rant. You can take it anyway you want or react/reply anyway you want but here it is. This is a NASCAR class and I don't remember ever seeing a NASCAR racer with a blower sticking out of the hood. It states that some cars may have to be painted and decaled to look like NASCAR cars but I saw 4 cars that didn't meet this requirement IMO. Street cars with numbers on them don't represent NASCAR!! OK there it is.

IMO when we allow a fantasy livery it opens it up to anything as long as numbers are on it.

In the "Official NASCAR Rules" there was nothing stated about "fantasy liveries". It was just stated that "Pioneer and Scalextric cars could be painted and decaled for a NASCAR class". "The rules didn't say you couldn't"... Smokey? I have found cars from different companies.
Carrera - 69 Ford Talladega, 69 Dodge Daytona, 69 Dodge Charger 500, 70 Plymouth Roadrunner, 70 Plymouth Superbird, 60 Plymouth Fury Revell/Monogram - 67 Plymouth, 67 Dodge Charger, 67 Ford Fairlane, 63 Ford Galaxie, 65 Ford Galaxie Pioneer -68/69 Dodge Charger Scalextric - 68/69 Dodge Charger
Super Tires that fit these cars
Carrera - 1302/R - 0.932 tall (1301 will fit the 60 Plymouth) Revell/Monogram - 1700 - 0.825 tall Pioneer - 1901 - 0.808 tall Scalextric - 1601 - 0.818 tall
The Carrera cars are inline motored cars so it's gearing is different than the other cars. All of the other cars are sidewinder and use a 36-tooth spur gear.

Note - the Pioneer and Scalextric cars may need to be painted and/or decaled for a NASCAR class. Was it intentional to not state "Fantasy livery"? Do the rules need to be more specific for all classes in the future regarding "Fantasy liveries"? Or has the club becoming a "Run what you brung" and "Less rules, more racing" club? Just having a discussion, not an argument....

I take your point Tom, as NASCAR liveries go. At one point I was considering a Pioneer Charger that was a street car and wondering what I'd do to "convert" it to NASCAR trim. I'd looked at decals to keep it simple and add numbers, but I saw the bargain-priced Carrera in the case at Colpar, so I bought it and 'killed 2 birds with one stone'.
In hindsight (and after driving Jim's Charger), I think I would get the Pioneer version and customize it. I have a bad habit of picking wrong cars for some classes.
