I looked into the "poll" function, and did see that the option to show results 'only after the poll is closed' is available.
I'm not sure when the last time (if ever) that option was employed though.
Every time the poll has been invoked, it's usually for determining classes or some other such function. There was never a "need" for privacy. One could see how members voted on their selections every time. You just have to monitor the poll consistently to "see" these results.
Since I've been involved with the RMSCC, there has never been a vote for officers in any capacity, hence no "need" for privacy. It is simply an unfortunate chain of events that led up to this. I stated previously that I was asked at Harry's race last Saturday about taking up the vote there and then. I wasn't really prepared or comfortable with that. I also stated that I was going to look into the website's "poll" functions to see if there was something that would ensure privacy, that I hadn't seen or noticed before. Now that I have investigated it, I see that it could have been accomplished without any controversy.
I didn't initiate this vote or process, but I'll offer my apologies for the unfortunate consequences of it nonetheless. Next time we'll all know how to conduct it. I am sorry for all the hard feelings expressed here.

In one of our final services as outgoing board members, John Parker and I performed a post-election recount for the oncoming board tonight. Using the list of votes cast by phone together with the actual ballots cast at Harry's home, we recounted the votes separately and both of us have verified the final count was done accurately.
Once again, congratulations to Bruce K, Ian, Marc and Robert for their election to the board, and to Jim as the President.

I welcome the new board members, however, I will still question decisions and rules if I disagree with them, but in a civil manner. Tom
