Time for preparing this year's 2nd Quarter Racing Schedule.
Due to recent electoral changes constituting the new "Board", an overall increase in club membership, and recent track construction, we are now enquiring with the entire membership as to how many "track owners" wish to host races and be considered for the upcoming 2nd Quarter Racing Schedule. There are a number of tracks in various stages of construction that members have undertaken and we are going to ask them to determine if their tracks will or will not be ready for this schedule. The first scheduled race date is April 3rd with the last being June 22nd, 2024.
This requires that all tracks will have completed construction and have the necessary timing and scoring equipment in place. The track owner will also be responsible for undertaking a "trial run" before staging a sanctioned event. This is only to ensure the consistency and reliability necessary for an RMSCC race.
Any member who meets the necessary requirements, and wishes to host an RMSCC racing event during the 2nd Quarter Schedule, is welcome to submit their responses to the following questions.
Please respond only in this dedicated thread.
1. - How frequently do you wish to host a race? - Once per Quarter - Twice per Quarter
2. - Which days do you prefer to host a race? - Wednesday evenings - Saturday afternoons - Either or Both
3. - Which months of the 2nd Quarter, if any, do you NOT wish to host a race? - April - May - June
4. - Do you have any comments, suggestions or questions?

1. Twice per quarter.
2. Either or both.
3. Any month is fine with me.
4. If possible, it would be nice if Colpar could host every other Saturday. I also don't have a problem with more races with no 10 day break.

Warren Lake will not be available this quarter. We have a leaking hot water heat system that is requiring dropping most of the ceiling to do repairs. I must take down the track and most of the table to do this work. When the track is back up, probably 3rd quarter 2024, it will be a routed 3 lane track. I would hold only Saturday races once a quarter.
Thanks Mark W

6th Street Raceway will be back in operation by May so I would host in May or June, either Wednesday evening or on a Saturday. Once a quarter is good enough!

Even though Fred Martin is not a member and therefore not notified by the questionnaire, we have raced there before. Marc has stated that he (Fred) would be willing to stage a race for the RMSCC occasionally. I'll see if Marc will contact Fred regarding a possible May or June date, before posting the 2nd Quarter schedule.
Regarding adding more races to the RMSCC's calendar, we are averaging 1 race per week with 4 races per month. I'd suggest polling the membership for any increase. There is also the option for members to schedule their own races independent of the RMSCC that don't conflict with the RMSCC's racing schedule.

Received the answer from Marc after he contacted Fred regarding hosting an RMSCC race for the 2nd quarter schedule. Here is a proposal taking into consideration all of the host's wishes and balancing the requests for Colpar dates.
Please note, each Quarter Schedule consists of 12 race events. Dave Muramoto wrote the 1st Quarter Schedule and included 13 events instead of the standard 12. Therefore, David Crosby's March 30th race is actually the first race for the 2nd Quarter Schedule and is included and indicated as such.
Any comments or suggestions, please respond in this thread.
Mar. 30 (Sat) - David C Apr. 3rd (Wed) - Tom Apr.13th (Sat) - Colpar Apr.17th (Wed) - Harry Apr. 27th (Sat) - Colpar May 1st (Wed) - Dennis May 11th (Sat) - Colpar May 15th (Wed) - Jim May 25th (Sat) - Colpar May 29th (Wed) - Marc Jun. 8th (Sat) - Fred Jun. 12th (Wed) - Colpar

I didn't get back to let you know my wishes, but you must have read my mine. Thanks for the new dates for the second quarter of racing.
I am good with one race at my house. I prefer to run on Wed nights. I wouldn't want to schedule a race at my house in June.
I would look at the "Quarters of racing" instead of just 12 races of scheduling, such as David M. had completed for the first quarter.

A Wed. race at Colpar? Tom That was brought up last Fall as an option since an employee (I think it might be Dave) at Colpar said Wednesday evenings could be an option as long as he was there. I'll investigate if that's still possible. Or maybe the store manager would allow you do it Tom.

I spoke with Dave at Colpar regarding racing there on occasional Wednesday evenings earlier today. He was quite willing to host the club, and even would like to race with us. He asked about our current classes as well as the ones we'll be running through the 2nd quarter. Regarding the originally proposed, June 12th, Wednesday date, he said that would be fine.
Last Saturday, I had asked Mark, the store manager to see if any Saturday dates would conflict with Colpar's scheduled events, but indicated they would be alright.
If there are no issues with anyone regarding the schedule, I'll post it as official.
