Last "Slow" Class for 2022 mid-season Vote for one class
This class would follow the Carrera DTM class as the next "slow" class
I have "Locked" the poll. So, all votes will be looked at and may be used for reference in future class ideas.

I started this to get some feedback and results for the last "slow" class, to end this mid-season of racing.

Which cars would constitute Scalextric modern GT? Marc C8 'Vette, Ford GTE, McLaren F1 GTR, Mustang GT4. those are the only ones listed from the distributor for now. I'm sure there are older ones also. Tom

Taken from Modern GT proxy rules (I am not sure of older cars, this is showing 2010 and newer) (It may have also missed some new cars, such as a Mustang GT4 and the Corvette C8.R)

I am not an authority on all of the cars made by a Company. I looked at the GT3 proxy to see what they list for eligible bodies. I also will look at what is available from some of the online stores. If you look at Electric Dreams website, you will see more cars than most dealers will show. If a car is made by Scalextric and fits in the years of a Modern GT car, we use 1995 to present, yes, the car can be used in that class. When I look at a Companie's website, it will only list what they may currently stock and there is not any way for me to find all of their past models that were produced.
So, yes, I did see that a Lamborghini and a Jaguar were made by Scalextric in the Modern GT body style. There is also a Nissan listed.
The Scalextric Modern GT class that we have run before, twice before, used cars that were Box Stock Plus, tires and weight were the only things that could be changed on the cars. No traction magnets.

Now for perhaps the most pertinent question; how many different motors are available/allowed for this Scalextric class? Did Scaley make a dedicated motor or are there different variations over the years?

Slot Car motors are not just made for slot cars. The different companies will obtain a motor that meets certain specs for them. I understand that "our" motors may have been originally designed for something such as a power window motor in in car. That is one reason why the motors are not all exactly the same. They are "cheap" mass-produced motors that are used in multiple purposes. When I can get a "upgraded", higher RPM motor, for $8.00, I don't except it to meet a tight tolerance for slot car usage. An 18k motor that is +/- 10 percent is a very good motor. Most of the Factory slot car motors are over "achievers". If you look at the testing of a Scalextric 18k motor, it will be closer to 21K, rather than 18k. So, yes, Scalextric, as an example, has "changed" motors. The old black stripe motor, with a white end bell, may have been "replaced" with a newer style end bell, just like the Slot.it motors have had their end bells "replaced". I guess the suppler will only make a "million" of a model before they can't get the same parts also. All of the companies probably just found a "cheaper" source.
