Another idea for use of RMSCC treasury funds: what about allowing existing track owners to request up to $50 annually in funds to repair or replace items that have been damaged during our races? During the race at Tom's track this past Wednesday, a styrofoam barrier was broken when a car went off and while it's not much, I'd like to see RMSCC funds used to support our track owners to fix or refine all the small "shunts" that occur while we're playing at their tracks. Thoughts?

Tom Tom- it was when we ran the track backwards during one of the F1 heats. At the end of the front straightaway, a late breaker went off to the outside and right through the styrofoam wall. We found the chunk and replaced it, so it might not be too easy to see. LOL

Any other thoughts from track owners on the idea for using some RMSCC treasury funds to repair or improve YOUR track? No need to continue supporting that proposal if there's not enough support.

Jerry mentioned last night about the option for track owners being 'exempt' from paying dues. I supported that idea, however there was no real discussion there to poll the participants there. Perhaps the track owners can weigh in on this proposal?
Another idea that I had thought about was to use some funds for reimbursement to the owners for providing snacks and beverages when hosting their races.

Interesting thought on funds for the event, but in my case, Not driving more than covers my costs at this point. Enduro race not included, and I did the food and fully enjoyed the day.

Problem I see with paying per car raced is who’s responsible for collection the $$? If that person is not at the race, backup? I can foresee issues with this but I’ll go along with whatever the majority want to do.

I think paying per car per race would put a lot of money in the treasury which we already don't know how to spend.

I think if the race organizer puts out a jar and racers contribute as they see fit would be just fine and I will contribute. For my races, I will not put out a jar. You all spend gas money to drive up here and I don't spend any, so cost is covered. When I do travel south there is always at least two and normally three in the car......

As of right now I don't need any kind of reimbursement. It's my pleasure to be able to host and provide a little snack for friends. And I get to do the thing I like with friends. Sorry if it's corny but just my two cents it's what came to my mind. Chris

The last time I saw a jar placed at a racetrack, the owner was upset with the contents in the jar. He threated the group with what he was going to do from then on. I have never seen the need to place a jar at my house. I have always had my refrigerator full of drinks and try to tell any new racer when they come to my house. Some may not like what is inside, but when I have added something different, it just sets inside till I throw it away. Vinny always asked before he would find something he liked on the shelf. If the box is open, it is yours. If there is something you want in an unopened box, I have it upstairs, so I can get it for you. Since I am not the best corner marshal, you guys will let me leave at any time to get what you want.

There may be another legitimate option for some of the funds once the necessary costs are tabulated.
